"Come and Join in the Fun”

The Mini & Junior Section runs teams from U7’s up to U18’s, after which they will go into our open age teams. The Mini’s & Junior’s train on a Tuesday evening, from 7.00 pm until approx 8.15 pm come rain or shine and run throughout the year. Matches are played on a Sunday morning usually 11.00 am Kick Off and will be either at our home ground of Springhead Lane or at one of the many rugby union Clubs throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire. Some Sundays are set aside as training days as stipulated by the Rugby Football Union Youth Development Policy, on these days we train down at the ground at 10.00am. After training or the games the kids and adults are encouraged into the “New” clubhouse where the family friendly atmosphere of Hullensians can be enjoyed. Our club has also produced many representative players over the years, playing for East Yorkshire as well as Yorkshire.

 At the end of the season we have a Presentation Day BBQ where the kids all get a medal or trophy and the highlight of the day being the Lads v Dads games where the boys get to play against the adults. We also organise fund raising events such as sponsored walks to help get training kit and leisure wear for the kids.

All our coaches are volunteers and have attained or are in the process of attaining the RFU Level 1 coaching award and are fully CRB checked, following both our own clubs child protection policy and that of the RFU. Parents and carers are asked to help with the teams, if you would like to volunteer to help coach, manage or just do something to help run the team, please make yourself known to one of the Mini/Junior Committee members.

Our aim is to promote Rugby Union in our community as a “Sport for All”. All children are welcome to come down to train and play matches. We encourage team work, a healthy lifestyle, self confidence but most of all for the children to enjoy yourselves. All our kids play in the matches, unlike some of the other sports such as football or rugby league.

We often receive Sports grants for promoting Rugby in our community but as you can imagine, running a thriving Mini & Junior section does take a fair amount of funding. Sponsorship for the Mini & Junior section is always welcome in whatever form, again if you or your company can help, please let us know, you will be helping our community greatly.

Hullensians Juniors/Mini's operate a recycling within the community policy.
